Benefits of Vitamins-What You MUST Know

by Curtis on August 2, 2010 4 Comments

Parents always tell their children to take their vitamins. Every day, consumers are bombarded with vitamin advertisements, and it is common knowledge that vitamins are beneficial to the human body. Unfortunately, many people do not know exactly how vitamins are beneficial. Knowing how vitamins can be helpful, and other important information about vitamins can help anyone decide the right vitamins to take, and shows their true benefits.

Two Types of Vitamins

It is very important to understand that there are two types of vitamins: fat soluble and water-soluble. Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the fat tissues in your body as well as in your liver. The vitamins remain in the body fat until they are needed. When the vitamins are called upon, special carriers take them to the source. The period of time that fat-soluble vitamins stay in the body can be up to 6 months. Vitamins A, D, E ...

New Secrets About ALOE!

by Curtis on August 1, 2010 0 Comments

Ahh . . . the cooling effects of an aloe vera gel on a painful red sunburn.  Ahh . . . the icy, almost-cucumber taste of aloe vera juice.  Ahh . . . aloe vera’s helpful dilution of the semen used in artificial fertilization of sheep.  Baa-aa-aa! Pliny the Elder wrote about it, Cleopatra anointed herself with it, the modern day plantation owners in Curacao make wine from it and vitaminalmanac.com perpetuates it.  Its health benefits are legendary, its uses are seemingly infinite.  What kind of amazing plant is this, you ask?  Why, aloe vera, of course! Aloe vera, that succulent savior that came from Arabia.  All hail the marvelous and (some say) miraculous aloe vera!

Everyone loves a day at the beach. But fun in the summer sun can sometimes result in sunburn.  Ouch!  A cooling spread of aloe vera gel will ease that pain.  Aloe vera gel has also been reported to ease the pain ...

Tea For Two

by Curtis on July 31, 2010 1 Comment

Tea for two, and two for tea indeed.  Tea is one of the oldest beverages known to humanity.  The steeping of leaves in boiling water to release nutrients and flavors and aromas is found to have been practiced since the dawn of humanity.  Whether in a bone china cup or in a rough-hewn pottery mug, tea has been drunk by centuries of humans.  Its medicinal, social, and religious properties are legendary.  As we advance, so does our understanding and appreciation of tea: that marvelous chemistry of leaf and root and stem and seed steeped in boiling water.

Teas have been found at some of the oldest archeological sites we have discovered.  Since humans have known fire, the boiling of water and the insertion of plant matter into that  water has been a continual action.  The process of leaching compounds from plant matter to gain nutritional benefits has a wide and ...

The FDA can't even regulate the quality of imported FOOD grade wheat gluten which has killed thousands of animals across the USA and now they want to take on the task of regulating the vitamins, herbal supplements and massage oils that have been around for decades. What do you think? Please watch this weekend's episode of KBTV and leave your comments in the box provided! Category:

I believe that it is possible to stay healthy into ripe old age and to prevent, stabilise and even perhaps to reverse, many of the chronic degenerative diseases. Underpinning all my research and advice is this simple fact. Given the right nutrition and lifestyle, our bodies have amazing powers of self-healing and regeneration. They have to because almost every cell and tissue in your body breaks down and is replaced on a regular basis. Bone is re-absorbed into the body and then renewed, cartilage in joints experiences wear and tear but is renewed, membranes of nerve and other cells are broken down and replaced. This natural process of wear and repair is going on all the time in your trillions of cells. The process of growth and re-growth in bones, cartilage and other tissues is called anabolic. The process of tissue breakdown is called catabolic. Nutrition and Your Mental Health What does nutrition have to do with mental health? You might be surprised to find out the truth behind what happens when a person has a nutritional deficiency. Nutritional deficiencies can cause all sorts of psychiatric symptoms including apathy, low energy, irritability, insomnia, low energy, agitation, fatigue, concentration problems, aches and pains, weight changes, including weight loss or weight gain. Sound a lot like the symptoms of depression? The truth is the average American diet of fast food is low in vital nutrition that you need for your body to function correctly. This isn't to say that all depression is caused by bad nutrition but it's certainly a contributing factor in many cases and poor nutrition will always make depression worse. Antidepressant drugs also do not correct nutritional problems. So if your depressed because of nutritional problems an antidepressant will only partially cover up the problem and you body still won't function correctly.
